IT UPDATE – IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE

As part of a national rollout across GP Practices in Scotland, Thurston Road Surgery will be moving to a new clinical computer system on the 3rd of December 2026.
 
To allow the IT team to upgrade the system, the Practice will have limited access to their current system from Friday the 27th of November until Friday the 11th of December 2026. During this time, the Practice will be operating on an urgent/emergency only basis which means we will be unable to do the following:
  • Offer routine pre-bookable appointments
  • Issue routine prescription requests
  • Receive any letters from hospital/clinics etc.
  • Receive any test results
  • Process any subject access requests
  • Register any new patients 
Only urgent on the day appointments will be available for those who require urgent medical assistance during this time.  
 
Routine Prescription Requests
 
If you were due to request medication from Friday the 27th of November to Friday the 11th of December, to ensure you will have enough during this change over time, please order all repeat prescriptions by Wednesday the 25th of November 2026.
 
We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this changeover and whilst we become acquainted with the new system. 

Flu: Guidance for Symptoms and Spread Prevention

If you have mild or moderate flu symptoms, stay home to avoid spreading the virus, especially in GP Practices, hospitals and other healthcare settings.

If you need medical advice, visit your local pharmacy or call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent concerns.

To reduce the spread:

  • Wash hands often
  • Cover coughs/sneezes with a tissue or elbow
  • Consider wearing a face mask
