Young People and Famlies Mental Health

Dear Young People and Families,

We appreciate that there is an increasing number of children and adolescents experiencing difficulties with their mental health, particularly exacerbated by the current Coronavirus Pandemic.

If you feel that things are affecting a young person's mental health or you/they are struggling please make a telephone appointment to speak to your GP to discuss this further and let us help.

We have compiled a list of resources for young people and their families for advice on a range of mental health and wellbeing issues which you may find helpful. Please have a look at these resources and if you wish to discuss any of the information further make an appointment to speak to your GP.

If you have serious concerns regarding the mental health or safety of a child or young person please seek help. We would encourage you to see your GP first, but during out of hours - at evenings, weekends and public holidays please call NHS 24 on 111, or in emergencies attend A&E as a place of safety. A number of the resources listed below have helplines, some of which may be accessed out of hours. THere is information regarding the mental health services in Glasgow which you can self refer to - see section on Wellbeing Scotland.
